Summertime
Two properly English events at Broughton in the coming weeks. First the Church fete on Saturday June 13th starting at 2pm. It remains a great community "coming together". Secondly, we host the AGM of the Coracle Society on Sunday June 21st. There will be a paddle past of coracles in the afternoon - including my mother's (her 70th birthday present) probably piloted by me. A Coracle paddle-past. You can't do better than that!

I have some questions about the castle and its inhabitants in the 1850's and friends of the family.
would you mind sending me an email with an email address I could send my enquiry.. bit long for your comment box.

I am fascinated with Broughton Castle's website and would love to learn more about the castle and the generations of the Fiennes family who have lived there.
I have a family tree on Ancestry.co.uk, with over 22,000 names added, which I would be happy to share with you, but I would require an e-mail address in order to send you the invitation to view the tree.
It is wonderful to see photographs of your family, as we must be cousins, but I have not worked out the exact relationships as yet.
I am also interested to see the information about your coracle activities, being a Welsh descendent myself and recalling one of my teachers, a coracle-builder, who used to involve pupils in sponsored coracle-rowing to raise money for various charities. I was previously unaware of the existence of the Coracle Society.
My e-mail address is: s.singleton3@sky.com
Kind Regards,
Susan Singleton (nee Jones)

Yes. I do believe Broughton Castle's time has come. To be under the scrutiny of The Castle Lady- that is- have enjoyed looking around the official web site and this blog. I will add it to all my writings about Broughton.
